Today was a great day š„¹ Making it Without Losing it is a USA Today Bestsellerā¦and I found out at 6 am heading into hair and makeup for our first ever Mic Drop Live. š
Who better to celebrate with than the 400 women in the room?!
Thank you all. Seriously. š„°
And thank you for capturing @shinewithnatasha ! šø
This talk just crossed 1 million views. Not because it was perfect. Not because I felt fearless. But because the idea resonated. Grateful for every person who pressed play, shared it, or saw themselves in it. Hereās to more voices being heard. #publicspeaking #tedtalk #publicspeakingtips
Sometimes bias sounds less like a statementā¦
and more like a question we only ask one person.
āHow do you do it all?ā
āWhoās watching the kids?ā
āIs your partner supportive of your career?ā
āIs this pace sustainable?ā
None of these are bad questions.
Whatās interesting is who we automatically direct them toward.
A lot of workplace expectations live quietly inside the assumptions we donāt even realize weāre carrying.
Sometimes awareness starts with a simple filter:
Would this question be asked the same way to a man?
O.M.G. still cannot believe what the past 72 hours looked like, I am so unbelievably proud of everything the @micdropworkshop team accomplished with this event!

āNever in a million years would I have thought I would find myself back on a track. But to me, success is saying, āIām not going to listen to what society tells me.āā š
@allysonfelix continues to open up about her return to the sport and what it means to redefine success on her own terms.
At Mic Drop Live with @jess_ekstrom , the 11-time Olympic medalist spoke about motherhood, finding her voice, impact and the evolution of her journey on and off the track.
Life is a lot like pointillism.
Up close, it can feel like random dots:
good decisions, bad decisions, setbacks, growth.
But eventually you step back and realize itās all creating a picture.
The important question is:
Are you painting your version of success⦠or someone elseās?
Comment āBOOKā and Iāll send you the link to Making It Without Losing It.
Never did I think my mom would say yes to coming on my show but hallelujah happy Motherās Day bc here she is!
Comment SHOW to watch. But thereās also something else I want to shareā¦
Iām just really glad I have this conversation captured forever. Her voice. Her laugh. Her stories. All of it.
This Mother's Day, record your parents and grandparents if you still can (and I know all relationships are different). Ask them to tell the long version of the story. Hit record even if it feels casual. š
Hope you enjoy our convo. Love you mom š„°
I donāt want to become cooler. I want to stay human.
I want to care deeply about others.
I want to light up when I see people.
I want people to leave interactions with me feeling seen, not ranked.
No title, follower count, stage, or success metric makes someone more important than the person standing in front of them.
Anyways, donāt confuses someoneās distance for your lack of worth. And never lose your warmth trying to look important. Thanks for coming to my TED talk!!
I promise I let my mom talk on my podcast and donāt talk the whole time!!! Yall. My mom is on my show. Happy Motherās Day. I hope you enjoy it (we held nothing back lol). Comment SHOW to listen!
