Kamohoali'i, Kalei, and their son Nanaue, the future King Shark 🦈 👑
I know Nanaue's mom is named Kaikea in the original comics, but I wanted to bring King Shark back to his original myth. So I mixed some aspects of her comic counterpart and the myth.
In my au, Kalei is a kapa maker who falls in love with Kamohoali'i the shark god. Kalei is born limb different here! To Kamohoali'i, there's nothing incomplete about her. Nanaue is their demigod son.
Kamohoali'i is a celestial shape-shifting megalodon. He borrows his look from whale sharks, white tip sharks, and rays. Sometimes he's a dude, sometimes he's a shark merman, but most of the time he's a really big shark.

A reimagining of two Hawaiian charactes from (Kon El) Superboy's original run. This mini comic is my personal love letter to the mythology and culture Nanaue came from. Along with my love of sharks, who deserve better than how they're usually depicted in media.
I've been really busy with book work. But for the sake of posting more often, enjoy this fan comic from my DC AU. I have a giant backlog of fandom shenanigans, so hopefully that'll make up for the art posting drought. There's a larger superboy reimagining this comes from that I'll share eventually.

Huge news SEABLING NATION!! 🐉🐉The Beasts Beneath The Winds anthology we lovingly illustrated has won the Young Adult/ Middle School Literature category for the Freeman Awards!! This award highlights East and Southeast Asian cultural understanding in literature, and how cool is it that this collection of cryptids from Southeast Asian authors gets to be a part of that history? It's extremely cool. My little culturally insecure kid self wouldn't have known we'd make it this far.

HUGE NEWS FOR BOOKWORM KIDDOS! Lunar Boy has been selected as one of the 8 books to read for @seattlepubliclibrary 's Global Reading Challenge for 2026!! 📚
It's a fun reading challenge where teams of kids read and become experts of these books and are then quizzed about them. All for a chance to be this year's champions!
There's a couple of extra goodies this time, because we drew up some special Lunar Boy themed stickers for those participating! I won't show them here, I'll leave that as a surprise for the kids 😉
