The story is told about a tourist guide who pointed to a small skull in the catacombs and said that it was the skull of St. Sebastian. When one of the tourists who had read the life of the saint pointed out that St. Sebastian died as an adult, the guide quickly responded: "Ah... that's his skull when he was still a child!"
In life, how often we give alibis, just to get by!
A MOMENT WITH THE LORD
Lord, remind me that life is about getting real, and not just about getting by. Amen.
A MOMENT WITH THE WORD
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." Colossians 3:23

Life need not to be complicated.
Life can be clear and simple.
How?
Let us go back to basics and remember the "Lessons we learned in Kindergarten," which are:
* Share.
* Play fair.
*Don't hit people.
*Put things back where you found them.
*Clean up your own mess.
*Say "sorry" when you hurt somebody.
A MOMENT WITH THE LORD
Lord, help me to be clear and simple, transparent and available. Amen.
A MOMENT WITH THE WORD
"Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God." Romans 15:7

I could not believe my eyes when I saw my American friend, Tony, at church that morning. He was not the religious type all the years I've known him, but there he was. Not only that, his head was bowed all throughout the homily, periodically shaking it. So prayerful, I thought!
After the Mass, I told him how edified I was with his prayerfulness and newfound spirituality. "Father, the truth of the matter is that I bowed my head and closed my eyes because I was praying that the photographer who was taking pictures would go away," he said. When I asked him why, his response was, "Any sudden flash of light affects me because of my terrifying experience of the bombings during the Vietnam war. Instead of being upset, I just bowed my head and closed my eyes!"
A MOMENT WITH THE LORD
Lord, thank You for washing away my tears and my fears. Amen.
A MOMENT WITH THE WORD
"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
