Our Digital Orchard (Orchard Onset) and @orchardcrew DITs, and friends, gathered at DO HQ for a LiveGrade refresher session 💥 Led by CEO Callum Just, with support from Orchard Onset DIT Joe Dibble @joescolouringin , training covered project setups, building the image pipeline from camera, managing multi-shoot workflows, and exploring new LiveGrade 7 features; alongside a hands-on LiveGrade rig build. A huge thank you to Dan Emmett from @eizocolour , who also came over to give our DITs a demo of their latest CG2400SV ‘ColorEdge’ monitor, which was followed by a deep-dive Q&A session. A great session to keep our DIT teams sharp, aligned, and up to speed with the latest on-set workflows!

Meet Jerome Smith @jeromesmith_dit , one of our Orchard Onset DITs 👋 Jerome began his career in 2014 at ARRI Rental as a Camera Technician, where he built a strong technical foundation in camera systems and on-set workflows; a natural stepping stone into the world of DIT With experience across both DIT and Lab operations, Jerome brings a valuable end-to-end understanding of the imaging pipeline, from camera through to post. This dual perspective allows him to design workflows that are both robust and considerate of the needs of DoPs and post teams alike. More recently, he’s expanded his skillset into on-set Livegrade and Virtual Production on Sirius Known for his calm, collaborative approach, Jerome works closely with cinematographers and camera departments to ensure a smooth, efficient process - from capture all the way through to delivery Book Jerome today via 🔗 in bio

And this is a film that has aged for me like a finer wine. Imagineer had many faces, and many titles and was my first real experience with reshoots and pick up photography, but the project was rightly extremely ambitious and deserved whatever we had to give it. It’s also the first time I really started to reflect on the pressures of directing. I think there’s a lot of pressure to ‘have all the answers’ and to be ‘right’ all of the time and over the years that followed, I’ve learned it really is about letting the rest of the team in, it’s not a cross to be borne alone and freeing myself of that pressure has been game changing. Been thinking about how much fun we had making @the_encounter_at_boundless back in 2020/2021 and what we managed to achieve given what a difficult period that was for everybody. Post production of the film was completed entirely remotely and it created a lot of challenges to overcome but ultimately the challenges only served to strengthen the creative bond between the team who came together behind this story. #filmmaker #filmmaking #movies #film #scifi #scififilm
