The makings of #adangapidaari started back in August actually. Around the time when my name change was also falling in place.
As usual, the first bouncing board for the idea was
@jerincraj and he heard the bare minimum melody I had and said, I am doing this. We jammed on this over 3-4 weeks minimum. Changed things around multiple times, A/B tested melodies, fooled around over multiple session files - some on his system and some on mine. I guess both of us refused to compromise. We wanted everything in the song to be perfect. Not every musician has the privilege of having a friend like Jerin. Someone that will read your mind, give you what you want and then some more, cheer you on till the very end and find joy in seeing you shine. I am constantly grateful that I found this brother from another mother.
A lot of you seem to have picked up the other thing we were going for - we wanted a K-pop inspired T-pop song. The lyrics, melody and the energy of the song is definitely boldly Tamil, but the vibe was k-pop inspired indeed.
And then
@nadasbala anna and
@akkarshkasyap came in and added life to the interlude and I went on a full night's singing session, with
@lalitha.tejaswini overseeing vocal production. Through the entire cacophony,
@aswin_george_john in
@soundsrightstudio stuck through and pushed things further.
And not in the video, but
@avinashsathish really knows how to add magic to my voice. That man lifted everything up a notch further.
This was a dream team indeed. I'm very very proud of the song we've made. Thanks for the love you've been giving it. And Thanks for all the love you are yet to give it. π
