We previously issued J. Field’s debut “Soaring Into The Great Church” via our budget music sub-label Dollar Tapes. Since then, DTs have long disappeared. Sorry if you dug those, time was not in their favor. Anyways, Jeremy dropped Soaring Two (aka Two Soaring Two Furious) not too long ago, and it absolutely rules. Soaring 1 leans upbeat, but still full of love. Soaring 2 leans down and solemn with some humor (“sometimes my music is funny but its not a joke” – Maker). The union of the two? A bit for everybody.
I keep describing this record as “Indie Pop?”, since its catchiness is undeniable. Seriously, try listening to any of these & not singing or tapping it the next day. Impossible. But if the phrase “pop” scares you like it does me, don’t worry. There’s more here, lush instrumentals, a distinct sound, confusing sections. Not to say that “pop” isn’t or can’t be those things, this is that exact case.
