Today marks 15 years since I lost my mom.
Fifteen years of living with a space that can never truly be filled.
There have been countless moments Iāve needed her, times Iāve wept quietly, wishing she was right there beside me. Watching my dad carry his loneliness has been one of the hardest parts of it all.
Over the years, Iāve had to step into her shoes in many ways, and while that journey has strengthened me, it has also come with a quiet weight.
During our wedding preparations, that absence felt even louder. I missed her deeply, though I kept it to myself and never said a word to my husband. Iām so grateful for my aunties and godmothers who stood in the gap and surrounded me with love. Through it all, I leaned on God for comfort and strength.
On my wedding day, without me ever saying a word, my husband surprised me with a portrait of my mom. I truly believe it was the Holy Spirit that placed it on his heart, because of the way we both lean on Him. That moment meant everything to me. It was one of the most special highlights of the day. Seeing my dadās emotions when he saw the portrait⦠Iāll never forget it.
Iām so grateful to God, and deeply thankful for the gift of such a thoughtful and loving husband @reginaldosei . God truly gave me the bestā¤ļø. I LOVE YOU.š
Keep resting in peace, Mom ā¤ļøš
