Happy 50th Anniversary to my dear Momi and Bah.
The key? Persistence? Choosing to say Yes even when some days it feels like a No.
Commitment to something greater than that first electric connection.
I love you @jdbrown1029 and @weibrown0105 . I am here, my dear sister is here. Our beautiful families are here because 50 years ago you said yes despite the challenges.
BTW. She was not 17. My mom's 80. You can do the math.

Mother's Day.
My dad captured this moment of reuniting with my not so little girl (and the rest of the family) after the Vipassana retreat. I didn't realize how much I missed my girl til I saw her.
So much to say about the Vipassana retreat at Vipassana Medini. Not really enough words.
Some pictures of some of the incredible woman along for the journey. Not one woman left our retreat and it's all down to the incredible way our course manager, Claudia, held us.
Powerful group of determined women each there for various reasons. Seeds planted. So many of our paths will cross again and to those who I won't see again, thank you for holding me while being little islands of silence.
My body is still regulating.
Apologies if I haven't called you back. I love you.
Grateful for the journey.

Signing off for 10 days.
10 days of silence.
No reading.
No writing,
No speaking.
No phone.
No laptop.
Just quiet.
If you need something... Send a pigeon.
See you on the other side. 🌈

Wow. Wow. Wow.
If you're in Tāmaki Makarau, you should probably go see @andjulietnz if you haven't. Hopefully you can find a ticket.
Saw it on Broadway and dare I say... The vocals out vocaled that show. 😅
Proud doesn't even cut it. Seeing my friends, new and old, shine on stage and behind the scenes... Repping Aotearoa in the most phenomenal way I left feeling joyful, hopeful, and full of love. That's what watching art is about for me. To feel connected And to be moved.
Congratulations! Thank you to all the actors who stopped and met us at the stage door. We do it for every show no matter which city we're in, or how late the show gets out. I want my daughter to leave any show full of wonder and the nugget that she too can do this too one day. Seeing so many "Dreamers" from the @broadwaydreamsnz / @mybroadwaydreams program inspires her to keep chasing her dreams and that it is achievable. You made a young lady very happy.
Shout out to our Matilda family on stage and off, too! Thank you for your dedication of bringing high quality Musical theatre to Aotearoa.

Many of us have conflicted feelings about Michael. The Victory Tour was my first concert. 4 year old Jen perched on my dad's knee in Dodger stadium. The only thing I remember were the Zombies coming up the aisle and tucking my small face into my father's shoulder. Apparently , Thriller wasn't performed, so I'm not sure what my 4 year old mind imagined. Maybe I couldn't separate the man from the monster in the video. Anyway, The first memories of my life have Michael as the backdrop.
It's hard to accept that such a creative genius (arguably THE pop genius of all time) who made us all collectively feel seen, empowered, elevated, enraptured could fall so heavily. Most heroes fail. People are complicated. Hurt people hurt people. All of that, but there is a certain betrayal felt when someone who is like a god is shown to be the devil. It's taken me a long time to listen to his music again. It is true that you can simultaneously love and loath a person. I know that intimately in my own life.
They did not address the sexual abuse/allegations in this film if you're wondering. I assume it's because this first installment ends in 1988 before our pop god fell. If there's a part two, hopefully the full scope of his life will be examnined.
This first film truly is about who he was as an artist. The brilliance that was carved out of pain and escapism. This movie truly is about Michael The King of Pop and for 2plus hours I could almost forget what is unforgettable. I was there, in the stands again as a four year old taking in the greatest show there ever was.
Dom... You're not on the gram, but shout out to you and @annievita , mate. Heading off into the big bad Aussie world and leaving Aotearoa to spread those wings. If you've been given wings, you gotta fly. You dreamt big and now you're chasing them.
Last slide on that little show about a bridge that brought you into my life. 5 years goes by quick, doesn't it?
So cheers to one of the most prolific actors in Aotearoa. I've grown so much in my art watching you. Australia's lucky to have you two.
Thank you for coming to Aotearoa to see us @stephjinla , Mollie and Zion. My heart is so full.
A lot was done In 10 days. Two shows (Counting Crows and a Radiohead Tribute), Rotorua (luges, hot springs), Waitomo, Piha, Tawharanui, Queenstown (solo mission). Endless cafes/restaurants (my pants no longer fit). Multiple parks. All the boats and Ferries. 3 bars. Board games.
But just being with you all in quiet moments was my favorite part.
We love you Gamsens. It means the world to us to drag yourselves down under to be with us. ♥️
Thank you @disneyblu for having me on DizRadio (Ep #277). Thank you Johnathan for your patience with my cold and matcha slurping. I was slightly too loud and slightly out of sorts, and maybe too sterile because I was trying to keep it together. 😂 but had a great time.
If you have 52 minutes to spare and want to listen more about Teflon Tess, M3GAN and M3GAN 2.0, listen on Spotify or iTunes.
