For my final year project I made a silicone display head of Mimir from the ‘God of War’ game. The switch for the eyes is hidden inside the neck stump.
This was a really tricky but rewarding project. I learned how to sculpt; make fiberglass moulds; hairpunch; paint silicone; cold metal cast and how to solder. Yak hair used for majority of beard- I tried to follow beard growth patterns while hair punching.
The runes were carved into the initial sculpt so I could fill them with pigmented silicone before covering them with the flesh colour- this made them look aged/ under the skin. I learned a lot of painting techniques from @stanwinstonschool videos.

Harp commission
Loved painting/assembling this electric harp by @harp_e_harp while at Scottish Opera. The theme was multicoloured galaxy and I had a play around with different techniques/colours before starting. I coated with a few layers of shellac before painting to avoid warping the wood.

'Jack and the Beanstock' 2024

2.5m tall giant costume made for the 'Jack and the Beanstock' panto at @thebeaconarts . Collboartive project with @eva.props .
The giant could wiggle/ scratch it’s bum, belly laugh, dance/ walk around and pick it’s nose before breaking down. Watch until the end to see process videos.
All the movements were controlled internally, with the actor being able to see through the chest area of the armour.
We made a small sculpt to work out the pattern before scaling it up and cutting the pieces out in plastazote. Felt/ calico used for the ‘rag’ hair. Foam clay used for some of the details and felt used to give the skin a different texture to eye/ lips/ nails.
This was a challenging make but we learned a lot/ had a lot of fun along the way!

Books made for the mezzanine wall in Marx’s library. As part of my work experience, I assisted in making over 300 books from polystyrene blocks, greyboard and canvas. Blocks were scrimmed and coated in paint with texturing agent to make the pages. We added gold details and dark washes to finish.

Puppet made for our props department secret santa! Inspired by a style of puppet I saw during my visit to the Scottish Mask & Puppet Centre (and Tim Burton). I loved the range of movement I could get with this. Puppet base made of wood and worbla. Head made from foam clay.
