A birthday reset in beautiful Oak Creek Canyon, just north of Sedona. I’ve been craving quiet time in nature, and my soul was filled up this weekend hiking, reading, eating yummy food and soaking in the beautiful surroundings. Thank you to @enjoyorchardcanyon for providing such a lovely and peaceful respite from the busyness of life. I can’t wait to come back.

@kennywhitmire_ and I wrote You’re Getting Colder over Zoom last summer while I was in Maine. It was our first time writing together, and when Kenny started playing what’s now the signature guitar part of the song, I started looking through ideas that might be a good match and this concept jumped off the page. Kenny’s not only an incredible singer and musician, he’s also one heck of a songwriter. Kenny thank you for sharing your talent with me and for letting me be a part of this one with you, and to @leestarrmusic , thank you for bringing it to life in the studio!

I’m honored to be a part of the second season of the Kansas Arts Commission’s LG Desk Series featuring performers from around the state. It was such a fun experience getting to film in KS Lieutenant Governor David Toland’s beautiful office at the state capitol and share some of my songs and stories. My episode will air on Topeka’s PBS station, WTWU-TV this Friday, Feb. 20th at 7:30pm CST and for those not in Topeka, it can be live streamed at /livestream/. At some point after the initial broadcast, the shows will be available at /show/lg-desk-concerts/, on the Kansas Arts Commission website (https://www.kansascommerce.gov/program/kansas-creative-arts-and-industries-commission-kcaic/lg-desk-concerts/) and on PBS Passport. For Kansans not in Topeka, you can also check your local public television listings for future airings and listen for LG Desk Series performances to be aired on Kansas Public Radio. 📷: @anndeeanndee

January 2026 - Winter Storm Fern. The past week has felt like a month in and of itself. Grateful to have only lost power for 40 hours while over 35,000 customers are STILL waiting for power to be restored one week later. There is SO much tree damage…Middle TN won’t look the same for decades to come. For any friends in the area who need a place to do laundry, charge a phone, or just sit in a warm home for a bit, my door is open.

“Resolutions” — It feels appropriate that my first co-writing session of 2025 turned into my first release of 2026. @madisonparksmusic came into the room with this concept, and I’m so grateful that she shared it with me. A big thank you to Matt McVaney and Madison for bringing this song to life!

I had to say goodbye to my sweet Lucy girl yesterday. She brought so much joy and entertainment to every day, and I’m so grateful for the years I had with her. As it would happen, I was out of town when she started to decline, and I have so much gratitude to Dr. Given at Hillsboro Animal Hospital for his guidance, and to my incredible dog-sitter Michele who cared for and comforted Lucy until I could fly back to Nashville to be with her. I’m so thankful I was able to get back home in time to spend a few precious hours with her before letting her go.
