Happy 50th Birthday to this remarkable renaissance woman!

A mother, a nanna, a wonderful step-mom to my boys, my wife. A fiercely honest actor, a baker of cakes and the best dang cookies (she ran a business out of her kitchen when I first met her). A motorcycle rider, not afraid to jump out of a plane, loves her fedora’s, and a tailor - she made her dress for our wedding and her outfit for a movie premiere once.
Our Managing Director at Railtown, a word nerd, a former private investigator and bartender, a lover of jazz and the blues, a green thumb, a hard sleeper, and for the last few years a script supervisor (she’s on set today) who ends each job with an abundance of heartfelt thank-you cards from both cast and crew.
A woman who has been to the depths and back, a few times, who picked herself up and brushed herself off from such a young age, but still maintains a courageous capacity to love and be loved with an unbridled laughter that when it gets going we can’t stop.
A warrior.
Someone who doesn’t suffer fools and won’t be f**ked with (her Scottish side) and will take any chance she can to walk in the rain. (probably also Scottish)
An exquisite sensuous woman with a profile I could look at all day, and eyes as blue as the morning sky with a heart as vast. When she holds my hand the world quiets a little. We have each other’s backs and hearts, and today I wish my love the happiest of birthdays!

Doors & Points of Entry. I love the symbolism.
Today marks one month since Day One of our “Railtown in Rome: Acting Intensive & Retreat”. On the morning of January 5th, everyone walked through the door of the hall, opened their hearts and allowed themselves to experience a new journey.
Was it all a dream? ✨

1. Entry to the inner courtyard at Castello del Duca. A huge, black steel gate locked up here every night.

3. The main entry gate at Castello, looking down the lane that leads to the village. It just so happens that the main street near Castello was also the ancient road known as “La porta di Roma”, the door to Rome.

Ten years ago I produced a motherf*ckin’ play. It was a ride. And I hold it in my heart as one of the most treasured experiences I’ve had in this biz, with these friends and the love of my life.

We explored the city, were moved by the art and history, ate the food, drank the coffee and wine … but it was the work in the room and this ensemble of actors that will stay with us.
