It's been less than a year since my MMA debut and here we are 5 fights later.
This started as a test for myself. Now we have a little community pushing each other and I couldn't be more proud of everyone.
Nothing but respect for my opponent Justin Valli. I don't know many people that'd be willing to take a fight on a days notice. Thanks to coaches @yodamagoo , Nick, and @scotttminto
It's been a great asset to have coaches from different backgrounds contributing in their own way. Scott's spent countless hours helping me on the feet, maybe one day we'll get to see it. π
Thanks to the @blackdiamondbjj crew and all the peeps in the Reno area that keep it rolling.
We did the thing!πβ€οΈ

What an amazing beautiful day. Thanks to everyone who made it out to celebrate Heather and I. We're beyond blessed with everyone's presence, love, and generosity. Onward to forever.

Welcome to the world Ronan Wayne Jennerjohn π₯°
Oct 1st. 1:36pm. 5lbs 2oz.
From him arriving 25 days early, plus finding out his gender at birth, this week was full of surprises.
We're ecstatic about being parents and so blessed to have our healthy little guy join the family.
Looking forward to sharing the mats with him some day. He's already locking triangles when I change his diaper, and his guard retention isn't bad for only being a week old.
Shout-out to @heheheather for toughing out pregnancy and labor. She killed it and is going to be a great mother, I'm forever grateful.
Also want to thank all of our friends, family, and jiu jitsu community who've reached out and been very helpful and supportive. It's been great to take a step back from the day to day and soak it all in.

Quick trip to the bay for surgery consultation.
Had to check out the japanese tea garden in the area.
Looks like I'll be getting a cadaver reconstruction of the radial crucial ligament of my left elbow.
This will be my 4th martial arts related surgery. While being no stranger to operations, it does come with a lot of uncertainty about the near future. Like when can I throw my cross again? Or wipe with my dominant hand?
With it all considered, I wouldn't have it any other way. Luckily I have a world class surgeon in my corner and a world class support system @heheheather
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!" - H. Thompson
Next Saturday, defending the 135lb title at the silver legacy.
Still have tickets available if you need them. Hit me up or swing by @blackdiamondbjj this Mon/Tue/Thr evening.
Just got IBJJF'd... @ibjjf
Never been disqualified before, guess there's a first time for everything.
Opponents foot was never in between hip and armpit. It also wasn't bearing weight so not considered "caught".
Everyone makes mistakes, but maybe consider watching the footage before handing out disqualifications.
I'm sure I speak for most 30+ year old black belts...let us do all of Jiu Jitsu. Don't be mad because someone tickled your foot 15years ago.

"Knee Reaping: ... while keeping the foot of the leg at risk stuck between his hip and armpit.
It is not necessary for one of the athletes to hold the foot of his opponent in order for the foot to be considered caught or stuck.
For purposes of this rule, when one athlete is standing and bearing their weight on foot of the same leg as the knee in danger, the foot will be considered caught or stuck."
