Jenny and I had so many inspirations for “Night Moves,” which comes out this Fri, May 15th on @aztec_records . I personally feel like there’s some “Hungry Eyes” going on here and of course a ton of Madonna references. We loved working on this one with @gosteffects who has developed an uncanny ability to read our minds during the production process after having worked with us on our past two albums, not to mention multiple one-off singles. Honestly, we think the press release for “Night Moves” says it best: “In keeping with our running theme of office romances and stolen glances, but upping the emotional ante, “Night Moves” is about when secret desires can no longer be kept inside. No more games, no more questions – it’s time for everyone to put their money where their mouth is and lean into love, under the veil of night. The track is an earnest appeal to rewrite the rules of love in the night time, when we all feel a little more free to be our truest selves.” Let us know what you think! It’s been a big year of transitions for this amazing lady. And I want to cherish the memories we keep getting to make together and the fact that she still remembers so many we’ve made. Laughter is so important and I’m glad that’s something we have always been able to make each other do. The world loves Mama Bates and I’m pretty damn lucky that she is mine. Happy Mother’s Day.
