Just like the ways of seasons, some Decembers I feel close to the meaning and others not so much. This year was a very late coming, but it’s here. That feeling of closeness to Christ. The maturing part of me is learning the awe of the phrase “son of God” and what His presence actually meant/means here on earth. The one who had the capacity to create a bridge direct from heaven to this earth. The one who holds access to new pathways that never existed before His birth. Having His presence wound in all the many parts of life means lots of uncharted pathways, loads of learning, and a light that never steers wrong. Merry Christmas. Celebrating the birth of the Son of God on earth.

Somewhere we decided we would do “12 yr. old trips” and after our first one, I’m seeing how timely one on one time is with a 12 year old right on the edge of his teens. 10 days is enough time to get on each other’s nerves and annoy each other more than once. But! It does not outweigh experiencing a brand new country/culture together for the first time, ramen flavors we’ll savor forever, mimicking a rapper we heard on the street, “100 bucks!” yelled as we raced across the street (and deeply stressed out lance), the smell and names of our newly made fragrances “yellowtail “ and “cloud”, the search for the strawberry sandwich only to be disappointed, the excitement for 7/11 runs, bowing deer with an aggressive side, Jeffrey the depressed monkey, and a first Japanese Onsen experience together. It was worth the investment. I’ve thought if we couldn’t have made it to Japan, I’d plan a 10 day retreat at home with a 12 year old. They’re fun and magical and I have so many questions to ask. I’ll admit I’ve been nervous for the teen years, but now seeing how incredible this age is, I’m ready for it! Thank you, Time. You gave us so much.
I’m a big believer in live art and its power to transform a space. Give me all the non-traditional spaces to create a performance and my heart goes wild. This was a fun one. @usanainc dinner event.
One year with Nora. Yesterday I read some of my writing about her when I was pregnant. It said, “This baby feels vibrant and wise.” At the time I second guessed myself thinking I was making up what I wanted, Intuition can feel like that sometimes, but this time it couldn’t have been more spot on. There’s lots to add to that like demanding, social, determined, aggressive, and happy, happy, and happy. Our home feels so different and we’re all the better for it. Happy 1st Nora girl.
GABBACHELLA! Taking on Coachella with @yogabbagabba was filled with magic and lots of love for these people. Choreographing for this pushes me to foundation, simplicity, and focusing a story. I love it so much. Thank you for the great assist @lilbugwray , you’re spectacular. And maybe one of the most special things was sharing this experience with my little sister @kaelieosorio … she was the cutest banana and mosquito I’ve ever seen. This group has become like family. Love all you dancers, creators, musician, stylists, and the list goes on. AND! @itskamrynsmith … you absolutely killed it!!!! You’re a real super star ⭐️
