2 weeks ago, I had the utmost privilege to work with this crew for the second time on a short film written by the incomparable @cameronspectorofficial . Plus, I finally got to work with the fantastic @brianjreilly and had a good drive back to the city with great conversation! It was truly a beautiful day spent with these incredible, talented and driven professionals.

I got to spend the day (and night) with my Chicago boyz! It's always so much fun hanging with you both! You know how to show a gal a good time 😉. From Second City to Ann Sather's brunch to a ride along the lake to the Conservatory and charcoochie board! I couldn't have asked for a better 23 hours! Until!... I ran into my friend Deanna, whom I haven't seen in literal decades, who happened to be going ON MY FLIGHT!

It was amazing being surrounded by friends and family while I watched this incredible film I had the privilege to be in, for the first time, in my hometown!! You know what else is amazing? I can't express how much this film means to me. When I read the premise, I instantly knew I wanted to be a part of it.  When I got to set and met everyone, I knew this was going to be something special.  Each member of the cast and crew brought a piece of their heart to this set.  I met multiple people who had been through the I130 process, people who had to prove, to a stranger, they belonged here.  Who were dehumanized by the questions they were asked, terrified that if they gave one wrong answer, they would be sent away.  Some, to a place they'd never even known. I've heard stories of people being wrongfully deported and in the early 2000s, my father even fought for one of his student's families who were in danger of being deported. This film is truly something special and will forever have a big piece of my heart.  Now, more than ever, it is important to listen to it's message. To the incomparable, dynamic duo directors (and writers! ugh why are you both so great you had to ruin the alliteration 😉) Sam and David: Thank you for bringing your beautiful heart breaking, pulse thumping, vision to life.  And thank you so much for letting me be a part of it. To the crew: You all created such an incredible and perfect world for us to play in.  You shared your stories, laughs and some tears and made this even more real. To the cast:  It was an absolute pleasure playing with you, hanging and talking with you, holding my breath as I watched you on the monitors and crying as I watched your characters' journeys unfold in front of me. You are an incredibly talented bunch of actors and I'm so lucky I got to share this experience with you! I got to spend yesterday with some amazing friends, seeing two fantastic shows, letting the world fall off for a bit and enjoy myself with the people around me. Appropriate was fabulous with Sarah Paulson & Corey Stoll. It was hilarious and poignant and terrifying all at once. But last night, I got to see my amazing friend, Nyseli, in her Broadway Debut Show, HELL'S KITCHEN! This show has heart, insane voices, incredible acting, and best of all, my friend! I've never cried so hard during a show, seeing this inspiring human who has worked so hard for this. You deserve this babe!! You've come so far and YOU MADE IT!! Words cannot express how proud I am of you, how ecstatic I am for you, and how much I love and adore you! This concrete jungle is where you made your dreams come true. You were the brightest star on Broadway last night, and I can't wait to see how brightly you'll shine!

When your commercial goes for a 13 week National spot! Thanks, @toyota !! I rented a car and drove to what was going to be a little shoot outside of Baltimore a little over 2 years ago. It was a super fun day where I met some really great people, and it was 100% WORTH THE DRIVE!... and the speeding ticket I got driving home lol
