We were lucky with views of Mount Fuji 🗻 then Odawara Castle Kamakura & Yokohama. The ride ended with a visit to Gotokuji ( Lucky Cat) temple & a ride along the Tama River cycling path back to Haneda. That‘s the Cowbell of Friendship in Gora Station.
The last week has taken us to Hikeda, which has a doll festival, Wakayama, with its castle & park, across to the Shinto sites in Ise and to Hamamatsu. There’s been plenty of blossom 🌸 on the trees.
A week‘s cycling has taken us across the island of Shikoku, back to Honshu over the Shiminami Kaido then Onomichi via Kurashiki old town to Naoshima - some rain but plenty of cherry blossom 🌸.
Our drives west and north of Salalah took us to Dalkut near the border with Yemen along a zig zag road , back along the stunning coast and then north to the frankincense trees of Wadi Dawkah and the mausoleum of the Prophet Job (Hiob). In Dhofar you are never far from a camel 🐪. On our last day it was time for relaxation at the beach!
A few days in Abu Dhabi - Louvre Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum, Gibbons do Where‘s Wally at the Presidential Palace, Falcon encounter at ADFH and then the Grand Mosque but no cycling 🥲
Well, after a visit to ancient Butrint - riding along the coast from Sarande to Durres via Vlorë marked the end of our tour. Tom rode up the Llogara Pass but we had some assistance!
Well, we made it from Oslo to Berlin! Crossing from Poland we discovered brick Gothic in Neubrandenburg, the lakes and forests of the Mecklenburgische Seeplatte, World War 2 history in Ravensburg, pretty Fürstenberg before the sights and flavours of Berlin ( couldn’t miss a Currywurst )
