The trails here are ancient—thousands of years old—original footpaths once used as trade and travel routes by Indigenous Maya communities around the lake. Today, three Maya peoples call this region home: the Kaqchikel, Tz’utujil, and K’iche’, each with their own language, traditions, and deep cultural identity.
Across Guatemala, more than 20 Maya languages are still spoken today 🗣️🌎—making it one of the most linguistically rich regions in the Americas. Around Atitlán, that culture is alive in every detail: the textiles, the traditions, and the rhythm of daily life.

Mi eterna primavera… Guatemala 🇬🇹
Tiene una belleza que no se explica fácil, se siente… Con colores que viven en cada mercado, en los textiles tejidos con historia y donde los atardeceres pintan el cielo entre volcanes… Si, nuestros famosos guardianes.
Aguas que mueven el alma, abrazando la tierra.
Pero lo más hermoso es su gente… Sigue siendo para mí la más tierna, cariñosa, atenta cercana, generosa, con sonrisas que llegan sin esfuerzo y se quedan.
Entre tantos momentos sencillos pero llenos de vida, es donde muchos se enamoran, casi sin darse cuenta, como quien descubre un hogar inesperado.

Guatemala está lleno de tantas cosas lindas. Desde un perrito hace que te sientes en el piso con tal de ser acariciado, los colores de las hojas en eterna primavera, los volcanes en su mayor expresión, las sonrisas y amistades que surgen cuando más de dos países caminan juntos por las calles, donde tanta belleza termina siendo destino para deportistas de otras tierras, los sabores y colores en su gastronomía, su delicioso aroma a café.
Un país donde lo salvaje, histórico y ancestral se refleja en sus sombras, sus siluetas y rincones.
