My latest piece for Mokozoyo Penang is rooted in my fascination with the hotel’s parasitic design concept 🪨 forms that grow and adapt to their surroundings. Although I dropped out of Architecture school, I’ve always been drawn to materials, shadow play, abstract movements, and shaping character in response to space. I also love how juxtaposition naturally thrives in this environment, where different elements meet without overpowering one another.
Inspired by the small details around the compound, I repeated and expanded identical elements taken from the raw materials of the building, the plants, the colors of the Mokozoyo cats, and the human traffic flow. The idea is never to overkill each other, but to adapt and grow organically, letting these forms spread across the facades like a living organism.

I’ve always admired how ducks remain composed, no matter the season. Though the surface moves and the air may shift, they remain balanced and present.
I painted this duck piece to embody that steady grace, the art of making things work in any condition.
