into this disaster-world Force Drift (August 1 2025) @tupelopress
started in late 2010, and finished truly this past October during retreat with @mybluedress and all-night vigil writing:
a million thanx to the folx @tupelopress especially Kristina, Jeffrey, and David—
And to @annewaldman@wolf_hour@j.michaelmartinez and @carolinebergvall for their support of the book—
Totally honored to have Spirit Marker 1-4 by @petersacksstudio for the covers!
Force Drift, an essay in the epic is as beautiful an artifact it is because of the expertise & vision of @hr_hegnauer_design_studio
go forth, (little) book of political critique and cri de coeur—
happy birthday Carolina, forever love & partner—
it’s been so wonderful collaborating recently, and I can’t wait for how the epiphany of HIDE will radiate all throughout this year—& abiding, continuing!
2026 is soon to be year of the fire horse, and you one of its baddest riders, and the book you’ve made is haunting & astonishing & delicate & devastating and more as an artifact of memory, telepathy and speech— and now as the credo reads it’s time for the book in the world:
Then put it up all to see
Queen’s horses as they ride into battle
something like that… that fancies itself
and disavows taciturn cruelty
52 today and for the whole circuit of the sun—trying to be equal to the tasks, to find as John Donne says an “equal music.” Possibly nothing will pass that bar of an equal music to this disaster-world—
but the militancy of the attempt, the keep in keeping on—these will be stars in the year’s constellation, and an openness to radical reinvention as befits the year of the wood snake to year of fire horse sequence—
say hello, friends
2025, year of the wood snake: heartbreaking memorials (Joshua, Alice and Fanny); and beautiful beloveds; anniversaries; Patrick’s twenty-first circuit of the sun; poets all over the world reading in solidarity with Palestine; and Force Drift’s epiphany as an artifact in this disaster-world—
