Standing thirty seven feet tall, Jeff Koons’s Split-Rocker merges the heads of two rocking horses—a pony that once belonged to the artist’s son and a dinosaur ↑ “Painted” with the colors of more than 45k drought-tolerant plants, this monumental artwork looks over Wilshire Boulevard, right next to our new David Geffen Galleries.

Here are my Balloon Venus sculptures, in honor of Mother’s Day, which emphasize fertility, love, and beauty. The works focus on the feminine form, engage with human history, and the connectivity of art that spans the history of humankind. “Balloon Venus Lespugue (Orange)” is now on view at the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens, Greece, in dialogue with ten Paleolithic “Venus” figurines, through certified copies of the originals. The exhibition explores the female form from the Paleolithic era to contemporary art, proposing a dialogue that spans more than 40,000 years of human creativity. A few highlights from a special moment in Evian-les-Bains, evian’s source city, at the heart of the French Alps. It was a privilege to unveil my design for evian’s Limited Edition bottle, the Balloon Dog reimagined to celebrate 200 years of the brand. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to optimism, vitality, and the the celebration of life. Happy anniversary to the evian family. #evian200yearsyoung

I am greatly saddened by the passing of Antonio Sonnabend Homem. Antonio was the Director of Sonnabend Gallery, whom I worked with over many decades. He was not only a close friend but a mentor that I will always profoundly miss.   I want to celebrate today two exhibitions that Antonio recently created. First the Sonnabend Collection Foundation exhibition in Mantova highlighting the profound impact that the vision of Ileana Sonnabend along with Antonio Homem have had on the development of late 20th and early 21st century contemporary art, held in the context of the Renaissance city, located in the town city court.   The second exhibition, created by Antonio with his son Phokion, is at The Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens where my Balloon Venus Lespugue (Orange) is presented in context with the collection of the Museum of Cycladic Art, along with models of the paleolithic Venuses, ranging from 40,000-20,000 yrs old, including the Lespugue Venus.   The exhibition deals with the embedding of meaning into objects throughout human history.   I never met a more cultured individual than Antonio. He was an incredible individual. He set an example how one could live one’s life in the exact manner that they desired to by paying attention to what was relevant to them in life and disregarding everything that was not. He maintained clarity, purpose, and found profound meaning in the arts and human history.      Images include Antonio at the opening in Mantova of the Sonnabend Collection Foundation. The Museum of Cycladic Art exhibition with Phokion; unfortunately, Antonio was not able to visit the exhibition, but he was excited to hear how successful the exhibition has been. → Εισιτήρια και ξεναγήσεις: Link in bio • Υποστηρικτής Προγράμματος Σύγχρονης Τέχνης/Contemporary Art Program Supporter: Contemporary Art Support Committee Χορηγός/Sponsor: @sonnabendcollection @appotamianos Υποστηρικτές/Supporters: @crediabank @gagosian @lorealgroupe Επίσημος Χορηγός Αερομεταφορών/Official Air Carrier: @aegeanairlines Χορηγοί Προϊόντος/Product Sponsors: @samsunggreece @kraftpaintsofficial Χορηγός Φιλοξενίας/Hospitality Sponsor: @hotelgrandebretagne ••• New exhibition “Jeff Koons: ‘Venus’ Lespugue” The Museum of Cycladic Art is pleased to present the first public display of Koons’ @jeffkoons “Balloon Venus Lespugue (Orange)” (2013-2019), part of the Homem Sonnabend Collection. Exploring the significance of the ‘Venus’ figure from the Paleolithic period to the present, this work is displayed at the Museum’s Stathatos Mansion alongside ten certified museum copies of ‘Venus’ figurines from the Upper Paleolithic era, highlighting how the representation of the human form has transcended time and place. Koons’ “Balloon Venus Lespugue (Orange)” draws inspiration from the prehistoric “Venus of Lespugue”, a mammoth tusk ivory figurine that dates back approximately 28,000 years. → Tickets and Guided Tours: Link in bio Images: Paris Tavitian © Museum of Cycladic Art
