Our custom designed Rivian R1S is now live in Fortnite and Rocket league. The team had fun with this one, amping up the design to fully express the R1’s adventurous side. Adding custom bumpers and roof mounted gear. Let's not forget the full size spare wheel on the back for the rocket boost!
This wasn't just about a new expression of our R1S, it was an opportunity to introduce the Rivian brand to a younger generation of fans. By meeting them where they already play, we’re showing that electric adventure is as much about performance and fun as it is about utility.
Since our real-world in-car experience and latest web configuration is built on Unreal Engine, seeing the R1S perform in the arena feels like a natural evolution of our ecosystem.

There’s a specific kind of magic in seeing a design move from a studio floor to the textured, busy streets of downtown Austin.
Spending time with the Rivian R2 this week felt less like a product launch and more like a conversation about how we move through the world.
The Materiality: The R2 feels grounded. There’s a thoughtful balance in the materials that you only really notice when you're sitting inside:
Natural Transitions: The way the Catalina Cove exterior plays with the Texas light—shifting between a soft teal and a muted earth tone—feels incredibly organic.
Tactile Interiors: The Coastal Cloud and Black Crater options. The use of upcycled Birch wood isn't just a sustainability checkbox; it adds a necessary warmth to the cabin, making the tech feel human.
The Interface: The Haptic Halo steering wheel feels considered—it’s about giving the driver a physical connection to the vehicle’s intelligence without being distracting.
The Experience: The joyrides through downtown weren't about showing off speed, but about showing off fit. The R2 has this compact, planted stance that feels right at home in an urban center, yet the expansive glass makes the interior feel like a quiet sanctuary amidst the SXSW noise.
It’s a reminder that good design doesn’t need to shout to be heard. It just needs to work, beautifully.

We’re at SXSW showing off what this machine is truly capable of: 32" OD wheels, 9.6" of ground clearance, and 0–60 in 3.6 seconds—all with 330 miles of range.
We spent an incredible amount of time obsessing over the details you don't always see. Take a look at that super slick underbody—it looks like a race car underneath because, at Rivian, every single detail matters. 🏎️💨
Live from SXSW! 📍 We just revealed the full color palette for the new R2, and Catalina Cove is stealing the show.
It’s a sophisticated dark blue with green undertones and a stunning metallic finish that really comes alive in the Texas sun. (And yes, I got lucky and found a jacket to match! 🧥)
To top it off, the design team crushed the details—check out the surfboard and custom RAD livery tucked into the rear drop glass. 🏄♂️✨

Each of our drivers for the RAD FAT Ice Race had a unique helmet created by our design team. Through the entire process we handcrafted every detail from taping lines to custom paint. We couldnt be more happy with how they turned out!
