i’m moving back to maryland for a bit, so don’t worry i won’t be too far away. but it’s extremely bittersweet to say that my album release show at @songbyrddc will be my last show as a DC resident after living in and around the city for the past almost 8 years. maybe this is all superr dramatic, but this city and the community within it are so special to me and have given and taught me so much.
when i was 18 releasing my first album as a freshman at UMD i was desperate to find a scene, and i felt accepted by DC immediately. i was so fortunate to find my footing alongside a bunch of great local artists, just to name a few: @makeupgirlband@frassgreen@brucetakenap@willkobus_ and so so many more. many of these shows were at old songbyrd on 18th too. love you sb. it feels super strange to now be releasing my second album, EXCESS, as I’m leaving DC.
this city shaped me so much as a person and musician in so many ways. I mean damn, I went from 18 to 26 in and around DC - so much has changed.
all this being said, if you’re free Saturday 5/23, I’d love to see you at Songbyrd for my album release show. I’m so excited about this album, and I keep counting down the days until I get to share it with you. I hope you can make it.
