I'm so pleased that my suite of drawings, Hymnal: My Ain Countree, will be part of 30 Golden Apples, an exhibit of artwork by certain alumni of my beloved Golden Apple Studio, where I've had art residencies in recent years. The exhibit will be shown in the Kresge Foundation Art Gallery at the University of Olivet in Michigan. Opening reception will be on March 21; the show will run through April 2.
The eight drawings that comprise my piece are color pencil on card-stock (13.5" x 13.5") and bound into an accordion-style book, including an envelop dated 1896 that contains a hand-written hymn (My Ain Countree), based on a poem written by Mary Lee Demarest.
I’m so pleased that my drawing, The Crossing, has been selected for the University of North Carolina’s juried 17th Annual Drawing Discourse! The exhibit will run from January 16 to February 15 in the S. Tucker Cook Gallery, UNC Asheville.
