So grateful to kick off ‘26 with these two!! Wouldn’t have made it through ‘25 without them. Thank you @stephonysmith and @mathai4374 for being there and being the best. I love you both dearly!!
Yesterday was my 60th birthday and it sure got here a lot quicker than I ever thought it would. It feels a little weird to say “I’m 60”, but I’m grateful for all the miles and memories that got me to this point. I was cleaning out my closet this week, started going through old pics and got the idea to post a lil walk through the decades. So, here’s my life so far in 20 pics. 😄😂
Nothing like a little Halloween fun at Fit Factory! Some athletes went all out with their costumes—like Jeff, the 300-year-old warlock who founded Fit Factory centuries ago! 😂 He stayed in character the entire class, spells and all. We even asked Jeff the age-old question: if he had to choose, would he be a vampire or a werewolf? 🧛♂️🐺 He chose werewolf! How about you? Drop your answer in the comments below! 👇 #HalloweenAtFitFactory #WerewolfOrVampire #FitnessFun
Happy Halloween from the Slaughter House! 👻🎃 I’ve been meaning to posts pics of my new place all “tricked” out for Halloween and have now waited til the last minute. So, let this be one more treat before it all ends tonight.
I got to lead my “Saddle Ridge Ranch” VBS last week at the church I grew up in…North Greenwood Baptist in Greenwood, MS. This was the 26th year I have led their VBS. I had to post this video of the 1st grade music class singing the ballad from that year, “Like Jesus.” They made me tear up everytime they sang it. So precious!
Happy Birthday to my mama, Elinor Ruth Pinion Slaughter!! I’ve never known anyone who loved the way you did. Your love was deep, tender, fierce, consistent, unconditional, passionate…the closest thing to the love of God I will ever experience on this earth. You walked through your life with a childlike innocence, always seeing the best, humbly laying your life down for others, giving your all in whatever you set your hands to. What a blessed man I am to have been your son. To watch you, learn from you and try to do my best to model my life by the example you set. The joy you carried was a force that changed the atmosphere of every place your ever entered. You were a supernatural combination of beauty, light, peace, mercy, grace, faith, innocence and compassion. This is how I see you…on Christmas morning…laughing and watching me, Vickie and Carla, with as much or more excitement than we had as we opened our gifts. Surrounding us with the sweetest joy. The security I felt is beyond words. I’m grateful that I carry your DNA…and that I feel you so often, still guiding me and helping navigate the craziness of life. I love you, Mama.
One of my favorite pics of my daddy. I remember the day this was taken. One of his best friend’s granddaughters was determined that he was gonna play “dress-up” with her. Yeah, @ally__long , that was you! Haha! I thought it was perfect to use to celebrate his birthday today. He would’ve been 89. Crazy….
It’s funny, the older I get the more I catch myself doing things just you. And, I’m reminded of you everyday I look in the mirror and see your face staring back at me. I love you, Daddy! Happy Birthday!
