This project has been more than ten years in the making. India was my second concert tour with the Keystone State Boychoir, after having traveled to South Africa in 2011. The choir invited me to help as a second camera for another filmmaker hired to make a documentary about our trip. When the first cuts didn’t seem to match the eccentricities of us boys, the project was scrapped. More than a decade later, I’ve pulled out my half of the footage to tell a more authentic story of what it’s like to be in that choir and travel all over the world. You never know what’s going to happen on tour. Sometimes you get invited to the U.S. Embassy halfway across the city. And sometimes you find yourself rehearsing on the floor of your hostel past midnight. But you’re always reminded what traveling with a bunch of teenage boys is like.
