At the bar, midday, sitting there, dressed so nice, trying so hard to make the second drink last
long enough to be sure they are really not coming. Avoiding eye contact with the bartender
while the ice melts. Concentrating on the napkin instead of looking towards the doorway.
Cannot appear too eager because, after all, they might SHOW. And if they don’t? It is really
the end of the world? After all you did your part, you did SHOW. They might be a NO SHOW
and still, the SHOW goes on.
