No better way to wrap a packed week than with the one and only Denise Rolark Barnes, Publisher extraordinaire of the @washinformer . This community paper/multimedia enterprise has served this city so well for so long, and it was an honor & a privilege for us to break bread and plan for the future!
@foodandfriendsdc has launched Move for Meals. For the month of October, participants can run, walk, bike, or engage in any physical activity while raising funds and awareness for Food & Friends. Consider donating or getting active to support!
Food & Friends alleviates stress for those who are dealing with chronic illnesses by providing medically tailored meals and groceries. Through volunteering, serving on their Young Professionals Board and seeing the first-hand impact, I know that anyone can get sick and everyone can help.
I am asking for your help — something I don’t do often — for a great cause. Please support Food & Friends’ Move for Meals!
You 🫵🏾 can support by registering for Move for Meals for yourself or a team! Registration is $30, but this also provides medically tailored meals for clients. If that isn’t your thing, then use the link below for a donation; anything helps.
Sign up as a participant, start your team, or donate to my page, which can be found here: http://bit.ly/Jae-MoveForMeals
I personally plan to bike and walk my way through the city and hit the gym a little bit more. Maybe this isn’t for you, which is completely fine! Please consider volunteering with me at Food & Friends or exploring other ways to support!

Not exactly sure what “main character energy” is… but I’m certain I’ve got it.
Grateful to have another year around the sun to do more of what I love — and do it my way!
We are grateful, grounded and just getting started 🙏🏾
Cheers to another year around the sun!
