We’re in our best today, at none other than @christiesinc to celebrate the launch of the 2024 @symingtonfamilyestates Vintage Ports. (With a few library vintages brought along for the ride).
Rupert Symington talks us through this fantastic event and these very special wines.
For the first time in seven years, @symingtonfamilyestates has declared a vintage for their world renowned Port houses.
Described as a vintage that ‘whispers, rather than shouts’, and returns to a classical Douro harmony, 2024 is a year for the ages.
In today’s article on our website we discuss what’s meant by a ‘Declared Vintage’ and investigate what made 2024 so special.

This week, we were delighted to welcome Paul Clüver to Fells House. Alongside some quick-fire questions about @paulcluverwines , his favourite quote and cherished memories at the winery, we also sat down with Paul for an exclusive interview to explore his fourth-generation family farm and the stunning cool-climate Cape wines they produce. Wonderful to have @chateaumusar Winemaker, Tarek Sakr, in the UK to celebrate the launch of Chateau Musar Red 2019 vintage. Tasted along with a stunning lineup of back vintages too.
We delve even deeper into the wonder and wizardry of @vilafonte in this month's insight pages.
From a quest for the world's oldest soils to a 100-Year Plan to create 'The Vilafonte', it's one of the most remarkable stories and projects in the world of fine wine. Head to our website to read the whole thing. (Link in bio)
A landmark day for us today at Fells House, as we’re joined by not one but two of South Africa’s most exciting family wineries.
Stellenbosch specialists @kaapzichtwines and the cool climate Elgin experts @paulcluverwines stood out straight away as soon as we crossed paths. Two wineries making markedly different styles – but excelling equally in each one.
They fit perfectly alongside each other in our South African portfolio – which now looks positively radiant, given the exceptional producers we were already working with.
South Africa is unquestionably one of the world’s most exciting wine countries – and our new friends at Kaapzicht and Paul Clüver perfectly demonstrate why. Do join us in welcoming them to our growing Fells family – and keep an eye out for their wines, landing with us in May.
The sun has emerged and so in true British fashion, we’re declaring a state of ‘summer is on its way’ and writing about chilled reds.
Once considered almost vaguely heretical in the UK, lightly chilled reds are now finding their place. As the industry evolves alongside consumers' collective understanding of wine, so too does the appreciation that some styles are not just suited to a touch of chill, but improved by it.
Hear from our portfolio managers as they share their perspectives and discover why a little cool might be the key to unlocking your reds. Head to our website to read more (link in bio)
On World Earth Day we celebrate working alongside our shareholders – @symingtonfamilyestates , @familiatorreswines and @hillsmithfamilyestates – who are helping shape a more responsible future.
And it doesn’t stop there. Across our wider family of producers, steps are being taken every day – whether that’s organic and regenerative farming, protecting biodiversity or investing in renewable energy.
It’s a collective effort, grounded in care for people, place and purpose.
We are delighted to welcome @innestowines — a premium Italian brand from one of Tuscany’s most historic wine families. Created by Sofia Ricasoli, the latest generation of the legendary Ricasoli family (dating back to 1141), this is heritage reimagined.
Meaning “graft” in Italian, Innesto bridges past and future — rooted in Chianti Classico, yet driven by curiosity and a bold, modern vision.
This launch includes two distinct expressions:
- A 2021 Chianti Classico Riserva — precise, classic, and true to its origins.
- A multi-vintage Toscana IGT — layered, evolving, and innovative.
We are proud to be the exclusive UK partner, bringing these wines to the market which are available from today.

A huge treat for real wine nerds today as we publish the latest in our interviews with makers and owners – a deep dive into all things @vilafonte with @mikeratcliffe .
From 100 year plans to using FBI technology in the vineyard to the world’s oldest soils and isolating their own yeast strains, this is one of our favourite things we’ve ever published – and undoubtedly the week, if not the month’s, must-read for interested wine lovers.

In March 2025, Hill-Smith Family Estates became the first Australian winery to achieve Gold Member status with the International Wineries for Climate Action – joining just 18 worldwide.

Yesterday we were pleased to welcome our local MP, Gagan Mohindra, to Fells House to discuss the key challenges currently facing our business - including the impact of duty, EPR, DRS and reduced alignment with the EU. Many thanks to Gagan for visiting, and for engaging with these all-important topics.
