I got this car April 6th, 2016, an auto FRS. I didn’t know how to drive stick, I didn’t know anything past “cool car”, and didn’t even know you could modify it.
The very first mod I did to it was wheels, but all I could afford were reps. I was young and unfamiliar with the culture.
This is the car that made me learn. I learned how to work on cars, how to modify them, what parts and brands were reputable, that my local shops were awesome individuals, and that the people making these parts aren’t billionaires, they’re usually family owned businesses that have obtained their reputation over years and years of solid products.
From then on I told myself “No more reps, support the businesses that make the real thing”, but these wheels always loomed over me.
Since then, there’s been an HKS turbo, Defi gauges, and countless other little things, but no reps.
Now after many years, I’ve corrected my mistake, and have built a car that is 100% real parts and 100% local sources OR parts I’ve purchased myself while in Japan. I’ve never put an order in online for this car, even my transmission was local to my FIL in BC.

Do you ever just look back at your car and are like 'ya...that's my gem😊' despite the trouble it's caused, I get that happy feeling everytime, so many awesome memories.
