Bread, Syrup and Art in the Library!
Artist Margaret Suggs had another brilliant workshop in the school library with a group of our students from 1st and 2nd year. @masillustration
We made an alphabet out of bread (which we didnāt eat, promise!)
Then, we made an alphabet out of syrup (which we probably ate a bit of!)
We had a brilliant time and created some fantastic images.
All made possible by the JCSP Artist in the Classroom Initiative. #schoollibraries #artistintheclassroom #jcsp #magssuggs

We had a beautiful morning in the National Library of Ireland at the We Write What We Like showcase. A group of students from 1st to 5th year engaged in a series of creative writing workshops with the brilliant Dagogo Hart and today performed their work to an audience of strangers, which takes real courage and skill. Couldn't be prouder of these superstar students and absolutely blown away by the level of talent on display from each and every school who participated. Huge thanks to our hosts at the NLI, to the JCSP admin team, to the City of Dublin ETB Sports and Cultural Council and above all to Dagogo for helping the students tap into and channel their talents.
We had a lovely visit from some Dutch teachers who were checking out how we teach in Ireland. They observed Mr Smithās 2nd year English class, chatted to Mr Cunningham and Ms Ethell about PE, met our Readerās Group, saw the autism classroom and chatted to Ms Hill, and observed a library class with 2nd years. We really enjoyed having them in our school and are proud to show how we teach and what a great atmosphere we have in CBS James Street. #jameboisawesome
š ššŖWe had a fun, interactive mobile planetarium to our school today as part of the JCSP Science Initiative. Students and staff had the opportunity to explore space through four exciting shows and full-dome films, ask questions, and discover science and astronomy in a new and engaging way. Unfortunately we couldnāt capture images of how incredible it was inside the dome.
š§š½āšāļøš°ļø A big thank you to Martin and Jimmy from @exploration_dome for delivering such an enjoyable and inspiring experience for everyone.
