@jcrossstudio has changed the game of bonsai ceramics in North America. Producing environmentally inspired work in the bowels of the desert outside of Joshua Tree, Jonathan’s vessels join the triad of bonsai, architecture, and art in a tightly bound ode to the human perspective of Mother Nature. Rugged, organic, and abstract forms elevate the aesthetic of nature in miniature in ways we would have never known had Jonathan Cross not opened the door. His most recent release of vessels, wood fired and crusted with ash, expands on his continued body of work while showing his progress in the firing process. The texture of these vessels might be his best yet.
