Il piano era una follia lucida: usare la Mitsubishi rubata al "Patriarca" per svaligiargli la villa mentre lui era impegnato al funerale del suo braccio destro. Monica faceva da esca in rosso fuoco e io posavo da pilota di classe, pregando che il motore non tossisse proprio davanti ai suoi scagnozzi. Eravamo a tanto così dal colpo della vita o da una colata di cemento fresco nei polmoni.

The plan was pure, lucid madness: use the Mitsubishi stolen from 'The Patriarch' to ransack his villa while he was busy attending his right-hand man’s funeral. Monica acted as the bait in fire engine red, while I struck the pose of a high-class driver, praying the engine wouldn't cough right in front of his goons. We were heartbeat away from the score of a lifetime or a fresh pour of concrete in our lungs.
