The Ex n protection method is applied to electrical equipment such that, in normal operation and in certain specified regular expected occurrences, it is not capable of igniting a surrounding explosive gas atmosphere.
Under EN 60079-17:2014 restrictive breathing enclosures with provision for routine checking shall be subject to periodic pressure test measurement.
To meet this demand, we have developed a simple-to-use & cost-effective Ex nR Testing Kit for conducting routine maintenance on all Ex nR equipment, and with a pneumatic design, it can be used for testing in areas where hazardous gases or dusts may be present.

One of 2021’s final projects included the design, manufacture and assembly of this Safe Area Power Distribution Unit to assist with the Topaz decommissioning project in northern sector of the UK North Sea.
Our client required a CE marked, floor mounted steel cubicle, 690V/110Vac unit for their offshore operations.
However, due to access restrictions the power distribution unit had to be designed & constructed as two units and installed together, interconnected, to operate as one.
The system had two boards including:
- Incoming isolator cubicle
- BusBar sections
- Conventional Motor Starter for Agitators
- Soft Start operation of Transfer Pumps and Sea Water Pumps

We have recently completed three bespoke ATEX compliant (Zone 2) Joystick control panels and two HMI enclosures for a client of ours.
Our experienced in-house team completed the design engineering, manufacturing, and assembly of all five enclosures line with a challenging specification, including a minimal footprint requirement due to tight space constraints.
