If you told me 5 years ago that in 5 years I’d be making close to 6 figures, at a prominent company, and doing what I want to do; at that time would’ve probably believed you. I say that because I’ve always believed highly in myself, and set big goals for myself to achieve. However, if you told me 2 and a half years ago that I’d be doing all that 2 and a half years from then after failing miserably in the sales field, switching career fields completely, working 2 jobs I absolutely despised, getting dropped out of a job 2 weeks into it, and eventually landing in a cushy wfh position that wasn’t developing my skillsets whatsoever; I would’ve told you to grow up and stop yammering fairytales to me. Yet, here I am today doing just that spontaneously, out of nowhere.
2 months ago I was making fun of myself saying I’d be living in my mom’s house until I was 65 years old, and shooting down the idea of saving money to move out. Now I’m living in a very nice part of Charlotte within a 25 minute commute of anything I’d want to do, chopping it up on the weekends downtown, and decorating my own space with my roommate
@cooler_djs_cooldude . It truly is baffling how quickly life can change. In 2 months I got a new job, moved cities, went to a gun range for the first time, and got a concealed carry permit with my mom.
3 months ago a recruiter reached out to me about a network engineer position with Duke Energy. I read over the job description, drooled (in a good way) at the thought of having a position like that, and then declined the position. I told him there was no way I’d be qualified for that position and that I was certainly not what they were looking for. Long story short because Instagram won’t let me type out the full story, I got but failed the job interview for that dream position, but two days later got an offer from those same interviewers about a lesser position I could start at, FOR THE SAME PAY!!! I couldn’t believe it honestly, and I still can’t. I am really looking forward to advancing my skillset and career with the opportunity Duke Energy has provided to me.
Life will give you crazy opportunities when you least expect it, I’m happy It didn’t pass me by.
