Stubborn. Passionate. Stubborn. Intelligent. Stubborn. Talented. Did I mention stubborn? These are the words that come to mind when I think about Michael Stein.
A beautiful soul who came into my life in 2010 and quickly found a place in my heart and our chosen family. He would make me listen to his Slipknot music on our weekly drives to Universal. Insisted on annual meetings (reports and charts included) with Jenn, Shelli, and myself to track his progress career wise, followed with games at Chuck E. Cheese. Michael was someone you always wanted on your team, and never wanted to play against – especially video games. We’d play the celebrity game in line at Disney all the time thinking we’d stump him! But sure enough after the Incredicoaster, while Nico got his nom nom cookie, he refused to let Kaylie or I win, haha. Michael was a take charge kind of guy, leading the way with Josh at Halloween Horror Nights, letting Kimmy, Kaylie and I to fend for ourselves. In fact, the only times he would concede control would be during KBBQ when he’d let Ambrose start us off or at the Cap Safe House with Brian and Nicholas. When he would team up with Marc for movie trivia, we’d get to hear his infectious laugh. The two of them together would be enough humor to make anyone piss their pants!
Most of all, Michael had the ability to make everyone feel special! Taking the time to know someone and truly listen. He’d tell you the truth, whether you wanted to hear it or not. Giving so much of himself and putting others needs before his own.
I am forever grateful you came into my life and honored that you let me part of yours!
Our Galaxy has a new Guardian to watch over us.
