After recognizing the need for more education about dating abuse for teenagers, JBWS launched the Dating Abuse Prevention Program in 1987. Each year, DAPP educates nearly 10,000 students, parents, and community members about the warning signs of dating abuse and how to have healthier relationships.
Topics include: healthy ways to end relationships, the importance of boundaries, and what's healthy when it comes to sex.

We are sad to share that JBWS' former executive director, Mary Baughman, has passed away. Mary left an indelible mark on JBWS' history and we want to take a moment to honor her legacy. While at the helm of JBWS:
💜 We successfully developed counseling and educational programs within our transitional living program
💜 We enhanced our dating abuse prevention program
💜 Created a Girl Scout badge about healthy relationships
💜 We expanded our outreach to the Latina community
💜 We updated the kitchen and teen room in our safe house
