It's not common (actually quite rare) that I get to experience dark skies under a new moon. Here's a shot of the sky (January) in an area near Punta Allen that has a sky darkness of Level 1 on the Bortle Scale. The palm trees are lit with up lights at the property I was staying at. Can't imagine what the view is like during peak Milky Way season.
This is one of my few images taken with my Laowa 15mm. Most of the time, this lens ends up being too wide for most applications but for astro it seems to be quite useful.

Some photos from my New Year's trip to Moe's..
I've been seeing photos from this really cool climbing photographer for a little while now and have drawn inspiration by his style. Not sure if there's a name to it but it's basically a slow shutter rear-sync flash shot (with camera spin) where the movements of your subject become more intensified and gives off a very high-action feel to the image. I messed around with different shutter speeds and found that 1/30-1/10 seemed to be the sweet spot for me to be able to better control the rotation of the camera as well as center point of the spin relative to the frame. I don't think I'd shoot in this style much, but I did enjoy trying this out and experimenting with new shooting techniques.
