Great experience at SummersStrong19 with some outstanding people in the profession. Grateful to spend time around strong minds, strong leadership, and strong character.
As Proverbs 27:17 reminds us, “Iron sharpens iron.” Being around people who challenge you, encourage you, and push you to grow leaves you refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to attack the day with purpose and energy.
Thank you to @BertSorin for continuing to create an environment that brings great people together. Always appreciate the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.

Man. Next week it will be 22 years of friendship. Started working together and shared a desk at Mizzou in ‘04 as a part of the top GA class ever - myself @muadianvita.kazadi and @janaheitmeyer . Even though we rarely see each other, we are still family. Picked up where we left off without missing a beat.
@tylermintonnutrition kicking off Day 2 at summer strong. He’s an engaging speaker with great information and delivery. Second time I’ve seen him in the past year and learned something each time. I appreciate his delivery.
Alphonse Dotson. I must say that I have no clue what he’s going to say, but if it’s half as good as it was at dinner last night…it’s going to be a good one.
There's a concept in statistics called a false positive on a ROC curve — a result that looks like a hit but isn't actually telling you what you think it is.
I saw it play out in real life.
Kid was big, strong, fast. Checked every box on paper. Dominated every closed, pre-set drill we threw at him.
The moment he had to read a situation and react to a stimulus — real sport, real chaos — he couldn't keep up. The processing speed just wasn't there.
This is why some athletes look elite in the weight room and can't play a lick. Physical qualities are necessary. They are not sufficient.
Are you testing the full picture? Or just the part that's easy to measure?
This is exactly the kind of thinking we develop in the PPSC program at Texas A&M.

"Just get stronger and everything gets better."
True. Until it's not.
There's a point where adding more strength stops moving the needle on performance. And if you keep chipping away at the same thing, you're leaving real gains on the table.
The smart move? Find the new low hanging fruit. Maybe that's a different exercise. Maybe it's a completely different quality — power, speed, capacity. But doing the same thing and expecting different results isn't a training philosophy, it's a habit.
Strength is a tool, not the destination. Remember- a hammer is a great tool, but it sucks for washing windows. Know when to use a different one.
Today's a tough day in the Mann household. Our loyal companion of 15 years has left us. He was more than just a pet - he was family. We got to share countless memories across homes in Missouri, welcomed two daughters, and explored Miami and College Station together. Fifteen years may seem long, but it wasn't enough. Though we're heartbroken, we're grateful for the laughter and love he brought into our lives.
Former PanAm games coach @bo.sandoval and former world team member @asandoval1340 in our snatch technique workshop with @crossfitsda . It doesn’t matter how long I’ve known him or how many times I’ve heard him speak (and we talk daily) I learn something.
@bo.sandoval going over technique in a snatch workshop we are putting on in conjunction with @crossfitsda to teach the lifts in the community. We at the PPSC trying to teach for everyone as opposed to only one population. #everyonestronger
