Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE) has been named one of two finalists for the distinguished 2025 Commander-in-Chief’s (CINC) Installation Excellence Award (IEA), honoring the exceptional innovation and outstanding efforts of personnel dedicated to the operation and maintenance of U.S. military installations.
JBLE is one of the oldest continuously active air bases in the United States, born from the 2010 merger of the U.S. Air Force’s Langley AFB and the U.S. Army’s Fort Eustis. Beyond its dominance in the skies, JBLE is equipped with a strategic deep-water port and a robust rail network, ensuring rapid mobility of forces anytime and anywhere. 🏥633d Medical Group laboratory technicians perform multiple practices including patient testing and analysis in support of medical readiness and emergency medical operations.

🫡Lab techs also maintain operational readiness by ensuring accurate testing and continuous medical support for Airmen, beneficiaries and deployment operations, all bolstering the #TeamJBLE mission!

⚾Armed Forces Night at the Norfolk Tides!⚾

Celebrating service and community, the @norfolktides hosted their annual Armed Forces Night baseball game, which featured several members of #TeamJBLE, including the base leadership and, of course, #JBLE’s mascot himself: JB!

💪The Hampton Roads Convention Center, in conjunction with the Tidewater Integrated Combat Symposium with the Tidewater Chapter of AFCEA International, hosted a STEM Day, and #TeamJBLE was there!

Annual Government-to-Government Tribal Consultation Meeting

Joint Base Langley-Eustis hosted the Annual Tribal Consultation Meeting at Fort Eustis yesterday.
–
Members of the Chickahominy Indian Tribe and the Catawba Nation met with #TeamJBLE leadership as part of the annual government-to-government Tribal Consultation.
–
The tribal consultation itself is a process aimed at building and maintaining meaningful and stable relations between federal government activities, which include military installations like #JBLE, and federally-recognized tribal governments, which are sovereign nations in their own right. The tribal members at the consult are all descended from peoples native to the land JBLE now occupies.

Virginia’s governor, Governor Abigail Spanberger, along with #JBLE leadership, presided over the official proclamation recognizing April 26 – May 2, 2026, as National Apprenticeship Week in the Commonwealth of Virginia!
–
This event connected Virginia’s transitioning veterans with registered apprenticeship program sponsors actively recruiting for skilled, high demand roles. Attendees met employers, explored apprenticeship pathways, and connected them with earn while you learn training and opportunities support skill-development and long term career advancement.💪

The 83d Network Operations Squadron hosted the Ransom Run, a 4.27-mile run honoring the life and legacy of Maj. Charles “The Giver” Ransom, who lost his life during an attack at North Kabul International Airport, Afghanistan, April 27, 2011.🎖️

This year’s run marked the 15th anniversary of the attack, as well as welcoming Maj. Ransom’s parents to the event.
