Hailing from Sydney, The Strides embody reggae power. Led by roots man Ras Roni, Fijian MC LTL GZeus, and Sierra Leonean ragga powerhouse Blacker C, this 9-piece group delivers an explosive blend of classic roots reggae, dancehall, dub, hip-hop and reggae-pop.
With over 18 years on stage, The Strides have rocked major festivals including Splendour in the Grass, Byron Bay Bluesfest, WOMAdelaide and Vivid, and have shared stages with legends like Tony Allen, Julian Marley, Groundation and Third World. A true reggae institution built on unity, culture and serious sound system energy.
Newly formed Yuin based roots/rocksteady/dub group The Dromaderos, led by Lucas Trevisan (Slumba Party, Lux Trevis) and Harry Tompsett (HAZTET, The Strides) highlight the classic sounds of lovers’ rock, prominent in the roots reggae bands of the late 60’s and 70’s; drawing heavily on influences like Alton Ellis, Dennis Brown and Junior Byles
