Perry Louis is a UK Jazz Dance legend, renowned for his expertise as a DJ and dancer. With roots in the 1970s–80s club scene, he transitioned from dancer to vinyl-only DJ, celebrated for his musical insight and energy.
His sets blend Jazz-Funk, Rare Groove, Boogie, and Soul, drawn from a legendary record collection. A staple at the Jazz Cafe and Ronnie Scott’s, Perry has performed worldwide and shared the stage with acts like the James Taylor Quartet. He founded JazzCotech Dancers and created Messin’ Around and Shiftless Shuffle. His latest venture, All About Da Boogie, revives 70s–80s Funk and Rare Groove. Perry’s influence extends across the UK, Europe, Japan, and the US.

25 years of Shiftless Shuffle, and we’ve created something special… the official 25th Anniversary Compilation, compiled by me.

What started as a simple “why not” turned into a real journey. With the family involved… Christos, Jacqueline, Gordon Klass, Colin Parnell, Christiane Hennecke, Colin Curtis, Chris Bangs… this became something bigger than I imagined.
This compilation is the dancefloor.

What started as a vision to keep UK Dancefloor Jazz alive has become a true cultural journey, and we are still here, still moving, still pushing forward.

World-renowned producer, guitarist and bandleader delivering a rare vinyl only DJ set. Expect deep 70s Soul, Rare Funk, Afro-Spiritual Jazz, Brazilian sounds and forward thinking grooves.
Dj Lorne Daley
A true lifer in the UK scene representing Jazz, Funk, Soul and Boogie since the 1970s. Deep selections and serious dancefloor energy every time.

What Just Happened?
I’m still buzzing.
Our first Shiftless Shuffle of the year and the beginning of our 25th Anniversary celebrations… and what a way to start.
Dancers and music lovers travelled from the US, Europe, Japan and across the UK to be with us at 229. That alone humbles me deeply. Some of you have been riding with us from day one. Respect.
Our special guest Shuya Okino delivered something historic. For the first time in his 30 year career, he played an exclusive all Japanese Dancefloor Jazz set.
Unreleased gems. Brand new heat. Rare fusion. Unknown treasures.
The floor was in a frenzy. Applause after almost every track. Collectors shaking their heads.
A true master at work.
Founder of Kyoto Jazz Massive, creative force behind Kyoto Jazz Sextet — he brought something truly special to our house.
Thank you to the JazzCotech Crew. Thank you to everyone who travelled near and far. This community is powerful.
We are only just getting started.

What a Saturday.
A little surreal, Angela Rippon CBE invited JazzCotech to perform at the Let’s Dance press launch at the Old Bailey. One of London’s most iconic landmarks!
I choreographed the piece, and with dancers from Foot Notes and JazzCotech, we had the final performance slot. The event was featured on BBC News and The One Show truly special.
The dancers smashed it, and to say we are buzzing is an understatement. Supporting something so meaningful through dance is a gift.
