WHERE: The Green Room 42 WHEN: May 29, 2026 at 7:00pm EST WHAT: Inspired by Celtic mythology, “The Selkie Bride” is a new musical that follows a curious young selkie (half-seal, half-human) named Mairi who finds herself trapped on a small island after a storm. Mairi fights to find her seal skin and return to the sea where she belongs, but finds herself falling in love with the island...and with the human man who saved her. Can this man be trusted? Can humans be good? Or will this island cause Mairi and her kin to become selkie brides - forced to marry the human men and be stripped of their autonomy? Written by Regan Hicks and orchestrated by Jaz Koft, this new musical is an inspiring and emotional tale of female empowerment, bodily autonomy, identity, and community.
