Jaymira Cabral — (@jayycabral ) — is a self-taught photographer from Rotterdam with roots in Mozambique and Cape Verde. What started as a way to process her own feelings has grown into a visual language that speaks to many. Her portraits focus on emotion, contrast, and the quiet power of presence capturing stories that often go unseen but feel deeply familiar.

At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to post this, as I like to keep concepts to myself and let the visuals speak. However, for this one, it just felt right during this period of my life.
I’ve been sitting with this idea for a while, unsure of how to put it into visuals. After seeing a post by @biggbamz I created a vision for the visuals inspired by her look. I’m still so grateful that she was down to collaborate with me.
I’m truly satisfied with how this project turned out, as it deeply resonates with the year I’ve had. I’m glad I get to close the year with this piece.
