An Editor’s Showreel 🎬✨ Looking back over the last couple of years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work across a range of projects — from commercials to documentaries. Each one has challenged me creatively and helped shape me into a stronger, more thoughtful editor. This showreel is a snapshot of that journey. If you’d like to watch the full projects, you can find them on my website, link is in the bio 🫶 #editor #film #creative #commercial #documentary

The Power of Colour 🎨 A quick before & after from a colour grade I did for luxury children’s brand Janie and Jack. Colour grading isn’t just about making an image look less flat— it’s about shaping the tone, refining the mood, and aligning every frame with the brand’s identity. Subtle shifts in contrast, colour balance, and highlights can completely transform how a story feels. Because in the end, colour isn’t decoration — it’s intention. #fashion #edit #bts #davinci #editor

“Steal Like an Artist” — Austin Kleon 🎨 In filmmaking, I draw inspiration from the world around me. Referencing isn’t about copying — it’s about understanding what works, why it works, and reinterpreting it through your own lens. That’s why I love building strong visual references for my director’s treatments. They help define the tone, mood, and aesthetic early on, ensuring everyone is aligned long before we step on set. Here are some of the reference images alongside the actual shots we captured for Karoo Bioscience — a great example of how intention in pre-production leads to clarity in execution. #cannabis #science #director #bts #film

Lessons from Kevin Hart 🎬 Kevin Hart speaks candidly about his Philly roots, discipline, and the mindset behind building a global empire in the latest episode of Stockton Street — an episode I had the opportunity to edit. I’m always grateful when a project does more than sharpen my technical skills. Editing conversations like this expands my perspective and reinforces why storytelling matters beyond the screen. This episode is filled with powerful insights on honouring where you come from, making the most of the path you’re given, and building sustainable wealth through consistency and intent. It’s all about pacing. 🎬 That is what I said to myself editing this commercial for Absolute Pets at @tintoyct As an editor every frame is so important. Cutting too early or too late completely changes the the emotion and intention of shots. What I love about this adorable ad is how it builds mystery gently and lands its theme so gracefully. With Christmas happening tomorrow, I hope all you fur-baby parents bought your little ones something special ❤️ Swipe to see what we got Ollie for Christmas @absolute_pets pets #editor #commercial #pets #bordercollies

The Final Ascent ⛰️
DAY 7/7 PRINCE ALBERT We wrapped our journey by travelling through the legendary Swartberg Pass. Rugged mountains rising sharply on either side, winding gravel roads carved into ancient rock, and views that make you stop mid-sentence. There’s nothing quite like filming in a place where the landscape feels larger than life.
Every turn revealed a new frame, a new colour, a new texture — the perfect way to end a trip rooted in exploration, storytelling and appreciation for South Africa’s raw beauty. And with that, our 7-day Cape Union Mart travel series comes to a close.
A journey of early mornings, winding roads, unforgettable locations and the reminder of why I love doing what I do. Until the next adventure. 🌍✨ #travel #adventure #mountain #bts #tvc

The Heart of The Forest 🌲❤️ DAY 6/7 TSITSIKAMMA

Tsitsikamma has always been one of my favourite places in South Africa. There’s something about its wild, untamed beauty that is unforgettable. For a filmmaker, Tsitsikamma is a masterclass in natural production design. Every corner feels like it’s been art-directed: deep emerald greens, charcoal cliffs, frothy white sea spray, and soft golden light filtering through ancient trees. You don’t need to search for beauty — it finds you. Fun Facts About Tsitsikamma 1. The name “Tsitsikamma” means “place of abundant water.”
A fitting description — the rivers, waterfalls and coastline shape every part of its identity. 2. It’s home to one of the oldest marine protected areas in Africa.
The underwater life here is vibrant and thriving. 3. The Big Tree is over 800 years old.
Standing 36 metres tall, it’s one of the most iconic landmarks in the region. #travel #adventure #bts #film #forest

Finding the Frame in the Quiet Moments 🎥 DAY 5/7 KENTON-ON-SEA
This small coastal town welcomed us with soft dunes, and that unmistakable Eastern Cape breeze — the kind that sweeps through your hair and instantly resets your soul. It’s always a blessing to feel the sand beneath our feet and the ocean brushing against us. These quiet moments of presence make you appreciate not only the places you film, but the privilege of doing what you love. As filmmakers, it’s easy to get caught up in schedules, gear, and shot lists — but Kenton reminded us how essential it is to feel the world you’re documenting. It shapes the way you frame scenes, direct movement, and edit the final story. A few fun facts I learned along the way: 1. It sits between two rivers — the Kariega and the Bushmans. This makes it one of the few coastal towns with multiple river mouths, giving filmmakers a huge variety of water-based visuals. 2. The beaches are consistently ranked among the best in South Africa.
Crystal-clear waters, golden sand dunes, and calm lagoons — ideal for wide shots and drone footage. 3. The area is rich with birdlife. Over 200 species — perfect for capturing natural ambience or slow-motion wildlife inserts. #film #bts #travel #adventure #sport
