The current internet & phone situation is that we are still having to do everything through a single unreliable Vodafone mobile hotspot. Please bear with us until BT Openreach manage to sort out replacing a battery in our local exchange.
We were told some time ago by the UK Government that all analogue phone lines would be switched off in 2026 so in preparation we switched over to VOIP on our usually reliable fibre broadband, with back up for power in case of power cuts which are not so unusual in our village. Since Thursday lunchtime half of our village has been without fibre broadband, the Saturday morning promise of it being fixed has come and gone. We have been in continuous contact with our service provider (there is unfortunately no way to complain to Openreach directly) and have contacted our local MP.
It's not just businesses that are affected but for all the older and vulnerable villagers who have moved to VOIP and suffer poor mobile signal, it's a worrying situation to be in if they need to contact anyone in an emergency.
If you need to contact us in the meantime email is the best option which we can access and reply via a mobile hotspot, or you can send messages on WhatsApp or via Facebook Messenger but we may not be able to respond instantly due to lack of signal.

Just a note to say we are closed next week for a well earned summer break. Back on the first of September.
Today Pete fixed the pad wear sensor on the E30 and we took a freshly cleaned Bongo back to Wolterton Hall. This was where we married in 2007 when Bongo was only a few months new to us. The hall has only recently opened up again to the public and it's lovely to be able to visit again. We left slightly with slightly less noise today, no cans rattling behind us at least!
We are out of power currently. We have dispatched and labelled most courier shipments from the weekend already but postal orders are awaiting labelling. We will see if we have power at home and will do them there if possible to try and make sure any post orders from the weekend and this morning can still leave today.
