This is the kinda stuff Chris Raschke would do. I fly out to Ventura and Chris has lined up a sprint car for me to drive. I’m pretty sure Steve Watt was in on it. Yeah. I got to drive a sprint car because Chris knew it would be awesome to share the experience. It’s one of my favorite pictures of him and I. The second pic is when Chris and his family just happened to be in Maui and he helped us navigate Covid paperwork with the locals. There sure are some great people in this world and Chris was busy being one of them.
I had a great week out in LA. First a drive up the PCH to ARP. Luis and I gathered informational content to share. Every trip to ARP blows my my mind. So much work goes into quality hardware.
Then I was off to Skunk 2, the RS Garage crew is helping move some 2jz and Coyote parts to market, actual good components. After that I went to Formula drift and watched LZ make some music with one of our engines. The MK5 also has a RS Garage engine but I didn’t catch it on a run. Went up to Detroit to visit Libertys Gears. Felt pretty cool to see my name on a work order. Those Equalizer trannys are a work of art! Paired the trip with Detroit Autorama and The Ford Museum. Seeing the Goldenrod car in person did not disappoint! #rsgarage #rattletorun

Helped clean up my buddy Red’s garage a bit yesterday. It meant moving the cars out with the help of his grandson Carson. Old cars sure hit differently. The gold one has “my number” for the moment. Yesterday was really neat. I drove the Type R down to Sebring to help some cool guys test. The first sets of laps were done at 10-12psi and the driver (an experienced teenager named Enzo) had that bored look in his eyes. After verification of the basics I raised the boost to 18-19psi. When Enzo came back onto pit road I got a look at him and he was all turned up. Said the power was great! Imagine flogging an early 80’s twin turbo racecar at a road course!? Just mega cool. My last trip to So Cal was exactly what I needed. I spent a few hours at Ed Pink Racing Engines. It was amazing, such a historical place in terms of American Racing. A visit to ARP to see friends and hash out some 2026 plans and some very much enjoyed BMW M2 time. Z Germans know how to scratch the itch when it comes to modern sports cars. This year @jaymeagher ran his #2JZ equipped streamliner up to 385 mph on the salt flats. That makes it the worlds fastest #2JZ. He went 3 miles straight over 300 mph! We are very proud to be a small part of that. This streamliner is equipped with one of our copper head gaskets made to Jay's exact specs. This particular set up requires extremely tight tolerances on thickness and bore size. You can check out the RS Garage page to see how it went together.
