Wishing the cast and team of âAnne of Green Gablesâ the happiest of closings!
What this company accomplished is no small feat. Extending a run, welcoming new cast members, and continuing to deliver night after nightârolling with all the challenges of live theatreâtakes heart, resilience, and real teamwork. Iâm so proud of how this group came together to protect the show through all of lifeâs moving pieces.
Thank you to every incarnation of this cast for maintaining the vision and bringing sweet Anneâs journey to life each performance.
Huge thanks to JP and the @storybookyyc admin team for taking a chance on this.
I only wish I could see it one more timeâI know itâs grown in the most beautiful ways. What a journey.
SOLD OUT. EXTENDED. SOLD OUT AGAIN. đ¤Żâ¨
What an extraordinary moment for Anne of Green Gables and the entire StoryBook Theatre community in Calgary. To have both our original run and extension completely sold out is beyond anything we could have imagined.
I am so incredibly proud to have led this group of passionate, talented, and generous artists. This production has been a true team effort in every sense, and my heart is full watching it resonate so deeply with audiences.
A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to every single person who stepped in, stepped up, and poured themselves into this show â onstage, backstage, and behind the scenes. It takes a village, and this one is pretty special. â¤ď¸
I want to thank my incredible team, especially JP Thibodeau @storybookyyc , for making this journey possible. Returning âhomeâ to Calgary is always such a joy â the community is endlessly welcoming, and we are so lucky to have this wonderful company bringing stories to life.
A heartfelt thank you to @jolenemariea who not only opened her home to me once again but also slaaaaaaays as Rachel Lynde in the biggest hat ever worn onstage in the history of Canadian theatre. đ¤Ł
On the first day of rehearsal, I told the cast a little secret: I was secretly a bit mad at Anne for a long time⌠because I never had the chance to play her onstage. I couldnât be happier that I finally met her this way. One of my absolute favourite parts of being a director is supporting other leading ladies â and my sweet @julietisabellar IS Anne. Watching her growth and joy throughout the process has been an absolute gift.
A huge thanks to @imdallashayessparks , our sassy, always draped in pink Musical Director, and especially to @taylorraesteedman , who created countless dance sequences with me â your creativity and dedication brought so much charm and life to the stage.
I must give a special shout-out to first-time Stage Manager, Darren â he had to find his voice with this spirited group and he absolutely rose to the occasion.
Thank you to everyone involved in bringing Avonlea to life each day. Feeling grateful, inspired, and so lucky to share in the joy and heart of this story with such a brilliant team.

To say we are overwhelmed would be an understatement. This extension speaks to the enduring magic and history of sweet Anne in this country, and to the extraordinary dedication, heart, and artistry of every single person involved in bringing Avonlea to life.
From the performers on stage to the designers, painters, stage management, crew, and creative team â this milestone belongs to all of you. Your passion is what audiences are responding to night after night.

Coming down from the StoryBook Theatreâs âAnne of Green Gables: The Musicalâ high and wanting to take a moment to highlight the breathtaking set created by @j.j_p
We fell in love with the soft watercolour palette and the sweeping landscape of PEI and built the world from there â letting those gentle hues and storybook textures shape Avonlea around us. The gorgeous painting, led by @deneane_osmond , brought that vision fully to life, layering depth, warmth, and whimsy into every corner of the stage.
There is something so magical about stepping into a space that feels painted with imagination. This set held us, inspired us, and carried Anneâs wonder in every brushstroke.

Still absolutely tickled pink đ
Legally Blonde took home 5 Ovation Awards and my heart is so full. Creating this show as an all-female creative team and being recognized in each of our categories is incredibly meaningful. I am truly humbledâand so proud.
To my dream team Lyndsey Britten and Eliza De Castro âthank you for the collaboration, the trust, the laughter, and our weekly pizza-and-chips âmeetingsâ đâ¨
Huge love to Philomena Sondergaard and our incredible Stage Management team, to Rob Sondergaard and Brad Danyluk for mastering lights and sound in a huge outdoor space (no small feat!), and the many other creative gems who made this production sparkle.
And this CAST đ
Special love to Abby Woodhouse for leading so graciously on and off stage, all of our understudies and swings (true superheroes!), and Ava Madison, our amazing Dance Captain, for leading our swing team and keeping the show safe, strong, and true every performance đаđ
Endless gratitude to TUTS for the opportunity to return to the community where I got my start and share this magicâcoming home in this way has meant everything đ Thank you to Kevin Woo, Richard Berg, and the Board of Directors for the support.
Thank you to the Ovation Awards and jury for championing Vancouver theatre and the love they show this communityđđť
My motto: Musicals are hardâdo shows you want to do, with people you want to do them with.
This group made it pure joy. We set out to give this cast the best summer of their livesâand I truly think we succeeded.

My brother, @__garms__ , visited the swamp today đ
As this year comes to a close, I want to highlight just how lucky I am to have him for a brother. I wish everyone could be so fortunate.
Greg is always by my side â especially in my hardest moments. Through every high and every low, he shows up with unwavering support⌠and usually a beverage to toast, some offside jokes, and the perspective that everything is going to be okay.
Heâs secretly way goofier than he lets on, thereâs no one more loyal, and heâs weirdly always game for whatever project I rope him into (never-ending pandemic renovations), somehow always finding a way to make it fun.
I donât say it enough, but Iâm endlessly grateful for you, Greg⌠and I officially forgive you for the time you decided to cut my bangs before family photos. âď¸
Painted green, always slightly sticky, and finally fulfilling my Fiona-ogre fantasy! Major shout-out to the @draytonentertainment quick-change wizards and wardrobe team who make me look like a pro instead of a swamp disaster đâ¨

Itâs not every day you get to slip into the iconic costumes of a legend. Borrowed Sutton Fosterâs looks⌠still waiting on the talent to catch up. Spoiler: the outfitâs doing most of the heavy lifting. Also, green is clearly my favourite colour đđ
Shoutout to @garrett_woods who launches me into the air like a theme park ride, somehow always making sure I perfectly land in time to sing.
How cute are these rat tappers?! đđŠ

I feel like I won the project lottery this summer in every possible wayâa definite âpinch me, this canât be realâ kind of season. đŤ Both productions filled my creativity, heart, and imagination in completely different ways, and I got to do it alongside two of the kindest, most generous groups of people Iâve ever met.
Every single person in this company has been an absolute joy and so genuinely supportive of one another and the show. Itâs been the perfect mix of reacquainting with longtime friends and making so many new ones that I know will last far beyond this production.
I have to send some extra big ogređ to my onstage best buddies @plummerdrew and @jcarverjames for being both so solid and silly, and to @dwales88 and our stellar stage management team for taking such good care of us.
As always, thank you to @draytonentertainment , Alex Mustakas, and the unstoppable force that is @davidwconnolly for the opportunity to return onstage and share the gift of this ridiculous romp in the swamp.
Get ready Cambridge. This winter is going to be đĽđ¸â¨.

Directing Legally Blonde this summer wasnât just another show for me â it was a long overdue homecoming. To return to BC and step back into the community where my love for theatre first began and reacquaint with so many friends and colleagues was everything for me. My heart healed through this production.
To my brilliant creative collaborators â Lyndsey, Eliza, Philomena, and Micah â thank you for your trust, your brilliance, and the joy you brought into the room every single day. You reminded me why I love this artform: because when the right people come together, magic happens.
This experience has been one of those rare âbucket listâ moments in a career â the kind you hold onto forever. Iâll carry the beauty of these mountains, the laughter of our rehearsals, and the sparkle of this production with me always.
This. Cast. Watch out, world⌠theyâre coming and theyâre reeeeeeeeaaaaady. Iâve never seen a cast support one another more and it makes it tough to say goodbye to this one.
