2024 was a crazy year! a lot of firsts, and a TON of learning. can’t wait to see what’s next! In 2024 I… 1. “Predicted” Heathers by getting this idea for a Miscast Cabaret before the shows were announced 2. Tried KPOP in that same Cabaret 3. Did Something Rotten for a workshop musical in 2nd year 4. Performed “When You’re An Addams” for a dance competition (and won??) 5. Learned puppeteering and performed in Avenue Q! 6. Did my first drop-in tap class 7. Went to @laynelabbe ‘s wedding in Calgary 8. Made my first short film!! 9. Mastered juggling at work 10. Performed in my first Fringe show, 27 Pictures! And won an award for it! 11. Edited many funny videos, mostly for school (wish i could’ve done more of this. stupid comp vol8 when??) 12. Got burned and traumatized by an exploding drink! 13. Choreographed a stage combat scene for the first time 14. Did a self-tape and auditioned for Next To Normal (and got the part!) 15. Got a new cat, Bobbi 16. Went to The Cat Cafe with a pretty special girl on our anniversary!! 17. Expanded my vocal range! 18. Performed and took a bow on the beautiful Triffo stage for the first time 19. Got through the first full sing-through of our next show, Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 20. I haven’t posted about a show like this in a long time, but this one was just so special. Thank you to the amazing cast and crew who made this show so memorable. It was truly a gift to be able to work alongside such brilliant people every day, and I can’t wait to see what we all do next! This experience as a whole challenged me vocally, mentally, physically, and emotionally, and I couldn’t be more grateful for that. At first, this show genuinely terrified me. I had constant feelings of self-doubt, questioning if I deserved to be there or if I could live up to the expectations. After our first rehearsal, I had a breakdown in the bathroom (where I was found by our director, yes it was very embarrassing, but we laugh about it now). Needless to say, my fears and insecurities were getting the better of me. But I quickly realized that I had so many people ready and eager to support me. My family, friends, vocal instructors, cast, crew, and creative team all helped turn this into one of the most rewarding experiences of life. Now, I look back and wonder how it all went by so fast. This show will always hold a special place in my heart.
