this project started as a simple app that used inexpensive machine cameras to map addressable LEDs in 3D space and create a point cloud that I could use, but my ongoing frustration with the existing volumetric LED software finally led to this; a solution directly aimed at performance and live control. I cannot even say how excited I am for the first time to actually map some features to a midi controller and start getting a feel for what it can do!

I've been hitting some creative blocks on some projects recently, but I found that sometimes the discipline is just pushing through a day of programming even if you hate every cut cue, even if you scrap 10 hours of work in frustration at the end of it, because the act of doing it and the associated muscle memory often help me trigger the creativity again or solve the thing that was stopping progress.

Shining the CIAF Spotlight on 2025 Blumenthal Fellow Jay Huleatt and his stunning installation SYNC on display under the big tent outside of Stage 1 at Blume Studios!
Sync was conceived as an unfinished piece - one that invites the audience to interact with it. Each gesture influences and reshapes the colors and rhythms, as the viewer provides the missing piece and completes the work as a co-creator of the art itself.
CIAF comes to a close this evening, but you can still enjoy Jay’s work at Blume Studios THROUGH JANUARY 4!
So grateful for the opportunity to create this interactive lighting piece for @cltartsfest , and that it will be staying at @blumestudiosclt through the end of the year so more people can interact with it and enjoy it. None of this would have been possible without @breestallingsart , can't thank you enough for what you do artists and opportunities locally!
Great weekend with @officialrezz Friday in Central Park, and then the @alanwalkermusic team in Central Park and DC for Project Glow. Special thanks to @juliusniklasson and the whole team for welcoming a stranger onto the last leg of a tour, hopefully we'll get a change to fight the sunlight another couple rounds!
