I concepted and directed a film for
@watchesofswitzerland_us . It all started with a tag line and a phone call, then more pitches than I can count. For the first time in my long career it was true creative autonomy. No founder to push a personal agenda, no unnecessary brand constraints, no endless guidelines to follow. Just create a story that inspires people to go back outside, experience life, hug a loved one, feel joy, and yes, do all those things while wearing a watch. Just because time is a made up construct, doesnât mean it shouldnât always look good.
In a time where itâs normalized by brands to not give credit to those who create, while stealing and profiting off of the ideas of others, here is something in its purest form.
No one likes watching things on IGTV, and I know itâs longer than a minute, but some wonderful, talented people put so much work into this and Iâm so proud to be fortunate enough to call them my team. Thanks to them for fielding my endless requests of crazy ideas and going with me to eight different locations during a very complicated time. This final piece is meant to watch loud, and with a smile.
